Itinerary:
Day 01
Arrive in Sri Lanka, the tropical paradise, and be warmly greeted by our courteous staff and then transfer to the historic city of Dambulla and check into the Kandalama Hotel, a sanctuary of leisure. In the afternoon take a elephant back safari through the jungle surrounding the hotel and you would pass by the Kandalama tank, which is home to over 145 species of birds, migratory and local. On completion, return to the hotel and experience a herbal body massage that includes a herbal bath, steam bath, oil massage and body message and enjoy the serenity of the surrounding area. Dinner and overnight stay at the Kandalama Hotel.
Day 02
Early morning visit the Island across the river by boat to experience more bird life. On completion return to Kandalama Hotel for breakfast. After breakfast proceed to Polonnaruwa and do a city tour by bicycle. Afterwards, return to Kandalama Hotel for dinner and indulge in the blissful luxury of the Kandalama Hotel. After dinner, do a trek to a local hena cultivation to experience the local cultivation methods and the rural life and keep watch with a farmer the methods used to protect the cultivation from wild animals. Late night return to KandalamaHotel for an overnight stay set in an atmosphere of luxury rooms, suites, lavish buffets and a level of service that is truly exceptional.
Day 03
After breakfast drive leisurely to Kandy enroute visit a spice garden to experience the many local varieties of local spices. You will also get an opportunity to taste spiced tea. On completion continue on to Kandy. In the afternoon do a city tour of Kandy by three-wheeler/trishaw (tuk tuk). In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic - the Dalada Maligawa, a magnificent building that lies on the shores of the panoramic lake of Kandyand also witness a cultural show. Dinner and overnight stay at Earl's Regency Hotel.
Day 04
After early breakfast proceed to Rambukkana by train. The clients will be picked up from the Rambukkana railway station by our staff and will proceed to the famous Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage to see abandoned baby elephants being fed and trained. On completion proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Check in at Tea Factory Hotel. In the afternoon the clients would be provided an opportunity to pluck tea at a tea plantation associated with a culture of its own. The tea plucked by the clients would then be processed and gifted to the clients on departure. Dinner and overnight stay at the Tea Factory Hotel, tucked away and nestling in the cooling climes of the hill country.
Day 05
Early morning drive to Horton plains with breakfast packets. Horton plains is a strict nature sanctuary located at a higher elevation than Nuwara Eliya. See beautiful rolling plains, a wide variety of flora and herds of Sambur, Monkeys and also varieties of bird life. A trek to the sharp precipice "World's End" for a fabulous view of the surrounding region as it stands beautifully on top of a little mountainous area, inviting the traveller to drop in and relax and enjoy the scenery. Finally, trek through the wooded hills and valleys with a tracker to World's End Inn Lodge which is scenically located with stunning views for dinner and overnight stay, in a soothing and tranquil atmosphere - peaceful and refreshing.
Day 06
After breakfast proceed to Udawalawe National Game Park and take a safari by jeep. Udawalawe National Game Park is home to large herds of wild elephants, buffalo, deer and other wild animals. You will also see plenty of crocodiles and many species of birds. The Udawalawe reservoir draws many wild animals to its banks within the park, and you could be one of the hundreds of fortunate people to witness this splendid sight. On completion continue to task safari in the evening experience a river bath. Barbecue with bonfire at the campsite with dinner and an overnight stay at the Task Safari Camp. ** Task Safari Camp is operated with a variety of tents; 02 Man, 03 Man, 04 Man tents. The tents provide the typical safari atmosphere and have clean comfortable bedding & individual toilets. However, the conditions are that which you would find in a Safari Camp and does not offer luxury
Day 07
After breakfast drive along the Southern Coast to Galle. On arrival in Galle do a city tour visiting the 16th century Dutch Fort and the Museum. The main focus of this museum is that it displays objects connected to history and also handicrafts such as mat weaving, embroidery, shell, horn and tortoise items etc. The Dutch church & the ramparts epitomize the greatness of the southern culture. On completion continue to Colombo en-route visiting a turtle hatchery. Dinner and overnight stay at the Taj Samudra Hotel, and enjoy your last day in the city of Colombo and the hub of the city's nightlife, tropical atmosphere, cuisine and entertainment.
Day 08
After enjoying an exotic holiday in this paradise isle, you will be taken to the Airport.
